Democratic parade float preview

The parade float, on which several members of the Milam County Democratic Women have been working diligently, is read for a preview.

No, it isn’t necessarily ready for the parade, but it IS ready for us to take a good look at. And, it’s something we should all be danged proud of!

So, at 5:30 this coming Thursday evening, swing by Rockdale Welding (which is at 344 S. FM 487 — just turn south at the Rockdale City Hall and you’ll see it on the right about half-a-mile down the road) for the grand unveiling of our first-class parade float.

Everyone one who reads this blog are invited and encouraged to come by and check this out.

“The sound system should be working, including the propane cannon,” said Collier.  “Yes, I’m going to warn Thomas Harris about the cannon.”

> Propane cannon? PROPANE CANNON??? Wow! How cool is THAT?! <

Now, this trek to have a float in the Rockdale Fair Parade has not been without difficulties. The Fair Association has, in fact, turned down our application to be in the parade because we are, well, political. So, not to be deterred, Collier got our own parade permit — and our parade just happens to begin the exact moment the Fair parade ends! HA!

Finally, though many have answered the bell, we still are waaay short of collecting enough for our matching grant donation to help pay for the float. Please, make your pledge today. Even $5, $10, $25 … anything! Even a little can make a difference, especially now when your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar!

Send your donation — right away! — to:
